Give Shaded Grass Less Attention to Help It Grow

Give Shaded Grass Less Attention to Help It Grow When caring for your lawn, it's natural to want to give the heavily shaded areas some special attention. But be careful; extra water and fertilizer can actually do more harm than good to your sun-starved grass.

The Family Handyman warns us about the unique needs of shaded grass.

The grass in shady areas needs less water because less evaporates, and it needs less fertilizer because with less sun it doesn't grow as much. When you go into shade, shift the controls on the spreader so you're spreading about half the amount.

If this is a big concern for your lawn, you might also want to invest in grasses that are better-suited for life without much sun. Be sure to hit up the source link for some more lawn tips.
